Sleeping beauties and then some...

Big Sud LoVeS his bed. I have tried to take this kids morning naps away but he won't give them up. He sleeps for 2 hours in the morning then again for 2-3 hours in the afternoon and then goes to bed around 7-8pm and sleeps until 7-8am. He is fabulous!
Tell me how this is comfortable. Not only is his bed filled to the brim with books and toys (he is very insistent on this) but he is sleeping with his legs crossed. Silly kid.

Sudsie buckets has learned how to fold his chubby little arms for the prayer. It is so precious. When I took this picture I caught him in the middle of a blink so he totally looks the part.

It has been a while since I showed a pic of all my fun coupon treasures and I'm sure you could all live without another one but I did awesome today so I had to share. I bought:
16 boxes of cereal - 6 generic and 10 name brand
2 bottles of toilet bowl cleaner
2 Glade candles
6 packages of 10 count pens
6 mini notebooks
6 mini highlighters
and a gallon of milk
for a grand total of.....$15.07. My total savings was $76.78. Dang I am good at this! (jk..sort of) I totally enjoy it. I guess I feel like Karl works hard to provide for us and makes it possible for me to stay home with the kids so I need to do what I can to maximize our income. And by cutting costs on everday items it gives us the ability to have a little more elbow room to spend money on things we really want.
The grain field across the street from our house was harvested last week. Karter loved watching the combine go back and forth. I on the other hand...not so pleased. This is how it started....
then went to this.....
and finally to this.

The dust was so bad. This picture was taken in my backyard. The dust was so thick and heavy. It had crossed the street, traveled across my acre yard and settled on the potato field behind my house. Talk about some allergies. You would think that a house is pretty air tight but once you have a grain field harvested next to it you will see how good it really is. What a mess! So all you city folk better appreciate not only the farmers who provide you with food but also us who get to enjoy the aftermath of harvest.

I went garage saling last Saturday and I bought these super fabulous stools for $2 (each). The backs of them were broken and I wasn't sure if I was going to be handy enough to make them look decent. But v...wa...laaa...a little wood glue and a clamp did the trick. I have been coveting these stools for years. There is a store here that sells all of Pottery Barns damaged, last season items and that's where I go and DrEaM. They have great prices compared to Pottery Barn but not so great prices for a budget. Well wouldn't you know that's where the lady bought these stools. And she paid $100 for each stool. I didn't get too bad of a deal.
We went to a primary activity on Thurday and the kids came home with fake lip cazoos (sp). This morning I walked into Hudson's room to find him taking his turn with them. It was pretty funny.

Oh the joys of having children...

Karter had the first (I'm sure it won't be the last) foreign object removed from his body today. It was the infamous rock in the nose. He was at the grocery store with my mom. She was talking with my aunt in the parking lot when all the sudden Karter starts to cry. He tells my mom what happened. I don't know if they tried to get it out but my aunt called me and asked what they should do. I told them to take him to the clinic and let them take it out. When they got to the dr.'s office my mom asked Karter if the rock was still in his nose...he stuck his finger in his nose felt around and said "yes it is". I wish I could record him saying that because it's so funny how he says it. So...it took four people to hold him down and the dr. still couldn't get a good hold of the rock. Each time he would try he would just shove it farther up. Karter was mad enough that when he let out a breathe of air it had enough force to blow the rock out. Thank heavens. The doctor was about to call in the ENT. I'm sure I'll still get a nice bill from the doctor for the extraction though. Thanks Mom and Judy for taking care of that one for me.

The doctor was about ready to call for the ENT. I asked Karter if he was ever going to do that again and he of course said no but he has had his finger up his nose since it came out. I don't know if he is just checking things out or if he is measuring to see what else he could shove up there.
