Unexpected expenses this month:
-New tires
-New brakes
-Pumping the septic tank - which means digging up the yard.
-Fixing a pipe that had a hole in it outside and was leaking inside - also means digging up the yard but not in the same place
While the plumber was fixing the pipe we found out that we need to dig up our well because it has a leak in it somewhere too. Good Glory! Is it ever going to end.
Karter, Hudson, Sunny and I decided to get some fresh air and try out our new double stroller. It was a lot colder than I was expecting but we had a good time. I bribed Karter to sit in the stroller by letting him hold Sunny's leash. He thought it was great and he never tried to squirm his way out. The strollers pretty nice but DANG!! It's way different pushing two. Especially since the heavier one is in the front.

Before and After

This was our soon to be playroom in the basement. Thanks to Shane and Kenny we were able to get it done for a great price. (Great pic of Shane, eh.)

We painted a chalkboard on the wall and bought a little table so the kids can color and do playdough and things like that. The things hanging on the wall are little buckets that I'm going to put crayons, chalk and what nots in. The buckets come off the rod so the kids can have them on the table but then they are out of the way when we aren't using them.
All of the toys are organized. It's great!!! My friend in Vegas made Karter the train throw last Christmas but I thought it would be so cute for a wall hanging. Thanks Juna Tuna!

Here is our family room, before. It was already sheetrocked. All we had to do was the trim and the carpet.

It changed the room so much to put carpet in it. I couldn't believe it. It's so warm and cozy now. I love having a separate room for our TV. It keeps my living room free of so many bodies.

Keep our troops in your prayers. They are still out there fighting for us. They are still dying for us.
I had to show you all how darn cute Hudson is when he's getting a breathing treatment. This is how our weekend to Salt Lake started. At 4:45 in the morning Hudson was up needing a breathing treatment. That should have been a warning to us of how the weekend was going to go.
We went sight-seeing to the cemetery. We wanted to see President Gordon B Hinckeley's grave. It was pretty neat.

On the way to the cemetery the sun was in Karter's eyes. He told us that he needed our sunglasses so Karl passed his over.

This is Karl's great aunt. We stayed at her house in SLC. She is 82 or something like that. She is a riot. She is always cracking jokes and is as ready as anyone to go have some fun. When we were driving to the cemetery we saw some people up on a crane and she asked us if we would go see if they would let her go up on it with them. She was totally serious! If it could of happened she would have been up there. Karter thought she was the neatest thing since sliced bread. He wouldn't leave her alone.

We went to the park Friday morning to let Karter feed the ducks. He ended up mostly feeding the pigeons but he thought it was great. In this pic he was walking towards the ducks saying
"b b" that's how he says tweet. He couldn't figure out why they would go the opposite direction though.

Then we went to take him for a ride on the choo-choo aka Trax. He was so excited. When he saw the train coming he started waving and had the biggest look of awe on his face. If only we could of heard what he was thinking.

We took a little round trip ride that was about 15 minutes long. It was perfect. Just long enough for him to have a great time but not long enough for him to have lost interest in the train and want to run up and down the aisles.

We went to lunch at Five Guys Burgers. It was super yummy. Sorry no pic, the food was already demolished before I thought about it. I had eaten there with my parents and my brother Seth in NC but Karl had not experienced it. He was in heaven. Karl lOvEs hamburgers!! And just my luck, right next door was a Nothing Bundt Cake. Ahhh....now I'm in heaven. I haven't had one of these since we moved from Vegas. They are so delish. I'm not a big cake person but dang these are good.
After lunch we decided to head out to IKEA to get some organizers for our new play room. We figured it would be ok because they have a playplace for the kids. Well wouldn't you know our kid was to short. So that meant dragging a two year old around IKEA. If you have never been to an IKEA that is not a place you want to shop with kids. They should have a warning sign out front guaranteeing you that you are going to get lost and it will leave you wondering if you will ever find your way out. Karter did great until we tried to take him away from the toy train set. If you haven't experienced a blow to the head from a wooden train I wouldn't recommend it. Karl took over and I got what we needed and then we bailed.
It was a long trip. I thought it would be nice and relaxing but it was anything but. The kids woke up at five in the morning both days after already being up a few times in the night due to all of us sleeping on a hide-away bed from 1912. EEK!! Hudson was a super grouch which is totally unnormal. I was so ready to come home! But we had a great visit with Aunt Jewelle and Karl and Karter spent Saturday morning with each other at Temple Square. We also had the chance to hang out with some of our old buddies. Thanks Morgie and Jessica!! It was lots of fun to see our kids play together. So all the stress was worth it.
P.S. Karter chewed his binky up when we were in Salt Lake and we didn't have one to replace it with so Karter went without it. We are now "dinky" free. HOORAY!!! The trip was totally worth it to accomplish that.

We were back at the doctor today. It was Hudson's turn this time. No joking, the moment we got home from taking Karter to the doctor yesterday Hudson started wheezing. Go figure. He sounds pretty nasty. The doctor put him on steroids to clear up his lungs. Karter was on them last year and they worked wonders. I sure hate to use them though. Maybe it's just because of the name. But I am so thankful for modern medicine. I was thinking this morning as I listened to Hud that if it was 100 years ago I would be so stressed about my darling. Not that I'm not worried (I am a normal parent) but ya know.
So now it's breathing treatments for both kids.

Suds Rolls

Those are muscles. lol

Check out those cankels.

Bath Time

After a long sleepless night Karter and Karl were finally getting some much needed zzz's. While I was getting ready for church they were sleeping in. Lucky ducks. I walked over to the side of the bed and found them sleeping like this. It was so darn cute.

Karler gave me a new watch for Valentines. I love these watches they are solar powered or something like that and water proof. I have had my other one for 5+ years. I wore it 24 hours a day. I didn't ask for a new one but I guess Karl thought it was time. No pun intended. Thanks honey!
Karter Jay is still hacking his lungs up. I took him to the doctor and all looks well just a nasty cough. He hasn't been eating or drinking for the last couple of days so that got me a little worried. He decided he doesn't like the doctor. While we were waiting for the doctor to come in Karter would say "No docor see me. Docor see Sudson." He screamed the whole time so even if he was wheezing there was no way you could of heard it. I'm so glad we are done with vaccinations for a good long while. I couldn't imagine holding him down for a couple pokes. I can barely get his teeth brushed!

Well....after lots of anticipation our trip to Vegas has taken a delay. The weather reports show snow for the next few days with Utah expecting around 9 inches just in tonights storm. Darn!!! To make matters worse Karter woke up with a fever and for anyone who doesn't know, when Karter gets a fever he really gets a fever. It usual sits around 104 and one time reached 106.5. So needless to say we didn't want to chance making a nine hour trip longer with bad weather and sick kids.
I'm totally bummed. :( I was so excited to get out and see my long lost buddies. Karl still drove to Salt Lake today to get new tires on my car. So not only am I bummed we didn't get to go but now I'm stuck at home, alone with my two sick darlings. No bueno.

Karter is growing out of his 3-4 hour afternoon naps. Darn!! He was up from 11pm until 2am last Friday. AHHHH!!!! He was ready to go and couldn't understand why we weren't. So I wake him up now after an hour and a half. It takes away my quiet time but I love when I wake him up he is so snuggly. He sits on my lap and hugs me. It's great because we spend most of our days disagreeing with each other.
Taxes are done and in the mail. Hooray!! We can't e-file becaue social security has the year I was born wrong. Wierd huh. Either that or my parents have lied to me for the past 26 years... or has it only been 25. Mom, Dad?

We had a great time at our "awesome 80s" party. It wierded me out a little. We didn't know most of the people there so it was so hard not to look at them and judge them. I kept having to remind myself that it was a costume, they really don't dress like that (or do they...it is Idaho). There were guys with mullet wigs and girls with the fang. Too funny. I took my camera but I dropped it earlier that day and didn't realize that I had broken the flash. @&#$!!!!! So sorry no pics of the party but here's one of Karl and I. Dang my dress was ugly!! I think some of the ugliness melted to me cause I'm not lookin' so hot in this pic. You can't see Karl's feet but he wore jeans with tennis shoes and pegged his pant legs. It was lots of fun!! The girl that threw the party had even set up a spot to take "prom" pics. Do you all remeber that. Aaaah...the memories. It was just like the prom. Everyone stood in a circle around the dance floor and wondered if they should dance. The guy I was crushin' on did dance with me a couple of times. He then proceeded to sing "Ice Ice Baby" word for word in the microphone...the entire song. All the while people were saying to me "he's your husband". Lucky me. To bad he didn't break the ole Michael Jackson out for them.

Church Time

I came across this video and thought it was a touching story so I thought I would put it on my blog. For those of you who are not members of the LDS church, Gordon B Hinckley was the prophet of our church for many years. He passed away last year.

I thought I would also put this link up for those of you who are not members so you could get a small glimpse of our church. The teachings of the church have given me so much strength in my life. I know that I would not be where I am today without it and feel that I needed to take a moment to thank my Heavenly Father for restoring the fullness of the gospel to the earth.

Grandma bought Karter some irrigating boots so he can help her in the summer. He wouldn't take them off. He loved them. I think it's because he can put them on by himself.
Karter likes to help me in the kitchen. He goes and gets a chair and is always in my way but we have fun. Notice the trend of no pants. We are still working on the potty training and it's easier to get it in the pot if there's no pants in the way.

Baby Sud is coming up on seven months. That makes me so sad. He has started to talk a lot. He will sit in his high chair or lay on the floor and say da da da. Only he sort of whispers it. It's super cute. And of course Karl thinks he is saying dad. Silly boys.

This is Hudson's attempt at crawling. He's getting there. He just needs to figure out how to do the arm and leg motion at the same time.

Baby Sud is coming up on seven months. :( Darn it. I want him to stay little and rolly polly. He loves to eat rice cereal. YUCK! And he likes to eat his vegetables. I have only tried to give him one fruit, applesauce, and he wouldn't eat it. Go figure. My cousin said his cheeks look so soft. That's a new way to describe them.

Just because I thought I would brag a little about what a perfect baby Hudson is I got punished. He now wakes up one to two times night and wants to eat. Lovely!

So...one of our friends is having an 80s prom party on Friday. I need to make a trip to the DI to rummage through their selection. I'm sure the pickings will be slim. It is Idaho and I'm sure most people are still wearing their 80s outfits on a daily basis. Any ideas? I was still pretty young in the 80s. I've been doing some research though. Stay tuned for pics!!
