It was a little interesting around our house today. It was actually nothing out of the norm for us or probably for any other house with little boys running around. But today there was proof to be seen of the craziness that I live in.

Hudson has a habit of sticking things up his nose. We keep most things out of his reach that we know will find a home inside one of his nostrils but he still mananges to suprise us.

His object of choice lately is food. Yep...Hud likes to stick food up his nose. Crackers, carrots, noodles...you name it. Tonight it was chocolate cake. I was putting the dishes away and he started screaming at me to "get it out!" I used a tissue and got what I thought was all the cake out but he kept screaming so I got the booger catcher and was amazed when it filled up half way with chocolate cake from one nostril. Oh this kid!

Earlier in the afternoon Karl had been playing football with the boys while they watched the game. Karl would have the ball and Karter and Hudson would try and tackle him. On one tackle Karter's cheekbone hit Hudson's head and he had an instant goose egg under his eye. I'm sure it'll turn into one pretty shiner.

Oh the joys of having a house full of boys!

I'm super slow on posting pics of Christmas morning.

I should be blogging about how long winter is here and the boys are driving me up the wall and how I've forgot what it's like to buckle a kid in a carseat without having to push and pull and stuff his marshmallow coat into place to make everything click.

But since that's boring and depressing I'll save you all.

Winter really hasn't seemed that long to me this year. Although living in Idaho I know it is far from over. The munchkins are getting a little bit of cabin fever so we try to get out to all the places that have indoor play places so they can scream and run. I have thought about asking the Relief Society if we can start a "Potluck Playdate" in the gym until the weather warms up. Moms can eat and chat, children can scream and run.

So any-who...here's a little video of the kids on Christmas morning running out to see what Santa brought. Nothing fancy just something for the Grandparents that we don't get to see as much as we would like.

Just before Christmas the Provo Tabernacle burned down in Utah. It was super sad since the building was so old and had so much history but the coolest thing was found inside the burned building. Check it out here.

This was a conversation between Karter and I tonight while we were laying in his bed:

Karter: We should have one, two, three, four, six girls and five boys.
Me: Do you think we should have another baby?
Karter: Yes. Do you have any in your tummy?
Me: No Heavenly Father hasn't sent any to my tummy.
Karter: Well you're going to need a special phone.
Me: For what?
Karter: To call that guy.
Me: What guy?
Karter: That guy! Jesus!

I think everyone in this house is itching for a baby...that is everyone but me. And since I am the one who gets to carry it, birth it, feed it, change it, bathe it and everything in between I win! This momma's not ready for another little monster to chase around. Yikes!! Although I did have a patient tell me the other day that her hardest time was when she had two and that it was just fun with everyone after that. She has six! And is only 32. DaZang!!
My side of the family came over on Christmas Eve to do dinner and gifts with the kiddos. My mom always makes lasagna on Christmas Eve. I'm not sure how or when that tradition started but I don't remember a Christmas Eve that we didn't have lasagna. We would usually do a little program where each of us had to do something like sing or play the piano and then we would each have a part to play in The Christmas Story.

This will probably be a tradition that I continue with our kids but I wasn't organized or motivated enough this year to do it.

So dinner and gifts it was. Hudson was so darn cute when he opened his gifts. He ooo'ed and ahhh'ed at all of them. One time he opened something upside down and all he saw was the cardboard bottom and he had the biggest smile and said "yes!". Silly kid.

Instead of giving the grandkids traditional gifts my mom gives them a keepsake Christmas ornament for the tree. They all have one for each Christmas since their birth.
They usually come in a box/tin and my mom puts dates on them so as the kids get older they will have that for a memory of Christmas pasts.
I am not a big person for gifts. I grew up poor...when I say poor I don't mean living paycheck to paycheck...I mean poor. So our Christmas's were humble :). This never bothered me though and I've never felt like I missed out on anything. But because of this birthdays and Christmas are things that have still stayed simple for me.
I enjoy the feeling and being with all my friends and family more than anything. It's such a fun/fattening time of the year.

But...everyone needs a new pair of jammies on Christmas eve.
Whenever we go to the little grocery store in town Karter and Hudson make sure to tell me they want one of the "tiny shovels". They insist that they must have one to help shovel the snow.

One day we walked in and the shovels were on sale. So me being the cool mom I am...hehe...finally gave in and bought them each one.

Had I of known they were going to be such great shovelers I would of made the $5 investment sooner. As soon as we got home they asked to get their snow clothes on and out the door they went. They spent the next hour shoveling the driveway and the sidwalk. Cute little boys. I hope they still love it that much in 10 years when it's going to be one of their daily winter chores :)

We took a quick trip to Salt Lake in December to see a friend from Virginia and see some other friends that live in Salt Lake. We didn't take many pics while we were there but we had a great time seeing everyone and catching up a little.

We spent one night at Temple Square seeing the lights. It's such a pretty place...love it.

We went to a mall that a had a train that we could all ride on. The kids thought it was great.

I love this pic of Karter. He looks genuinly happy. That's usually hard to capture in a picture lately. He's at the stage where if he knows your taking a pic he's going to be goofy.

Someone told me I should of sent this pic out as our Christmas card. It was pretty cute. Our "conductor" took it for us.
