Karl turned the big 3-0 yesterday! For his birthday I had him go on a scavenger hunt to different peoples houses. His ending gift was two tickets to a Yankees/Red Sox game in NY. When he opened the card he just stood there and did nothing so I thought he had already known and wasn't surprised but then he sniffed and started wiping his eyes. He was crying!!! It was so sweet.
I have been keeping it a secret since January. I was so excited to give it to him.
I am totally blessed to have Karl as my husband. He is fabulous! I couldn't ask for better.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KARL!

Hudson got a hold of the chip bag at the picnic and he was not letting go!
Some friends and I were able to get away for a "girls weekend" this past weekend. It was so much fun! I had never been on one before and loved every minute of it. We stayed at Jill's cabin in West Yellowstone. We went in to town the first night and ate pizza and did some browsing.

We attempted to get a group shot by the beach but this was as good as it got after three attempts. Brit and I just barely made it and Tami had to catch me as I slid in. My foot was still in motion.

We laughed all night...seriously all night. We stayed up until atleast 4am both nights. The later it got the more we acted like 12 year old boys...yes I mean boys. I felt so young! It's wierd how when you don't have kids to chase after you feel so free.
We missed a few girls who weren't able to make it. I think we have decided to make it a yearly thing. I can't wait!!
And to top it off when I came home Karl had mopped the floor, cleaned the bathroom, dusted and vacuumed. Gotta love that!!

The view was amazing! This was right out the back door. It was so pretty and peaceful.

Brit and Stacie fell in love while tubing...they are going to be sending out Christmas cards this year.

We did everything all by ourselves...we only had a few "hitches". Who needs guys when you have six super fab girls. Everything means pulling the boat trailer, putting it in, Brit and Jill even figured out how to make the motor go down. :)

We spent Saturday tubing. How fun! These three did a little showing off with some water tricks.

This pic was probably taken just before the three of us went airborne. Poor Stacie hadn't wanted to get on the tube and we all pressured her to try it out. We even said "you won't get wet...see my hair is still dry."
Ha!! We all three came up gasping for air and in shock. Brit and my sunglasses never reappeared but Stacie came up wearing hers like nothing had happened.
We did a little photo shoot while we were in West Yellowstone. It was too funny. The photographer told a story as we went along. This is it in a nutshell.

We had to go searching for our drunk friend. Who had gotten separated from us.

We found her with a bear ready to attack from behind and started shooting.

Our guns misfired so Jill pulled out her knife and we all started attacking.

Ahh...safe at last. We had the bear mounted as a trophy.

We are alive!! It was a little touch and go some days though. We have been battling strep throat, colds, ear infections, throw up and diarhea for what seems like forever (3 weeks). We means Karl, Karter and Hudson. I am the maid, the nurse, the cook and whatever else may come in handy at that moment.
I think we have finally beat it though. After four doctor visits, two antibiotics, one shot and some ear drops. Phew!!! I was about ready to move out and let the boys fend for themselves.

The boys were often sleeping were ever they landed. There were a lot of catnaps (for the kids :( ) due to lots of sleepless nights.

Notice the absence of a pillowcase. I could not keep up with all the laundry. It was horrible. Hudson would be fine for a day so I would think we were done with throw up and I'd put all the beds back together and then he would start all over. Poor little kid was so sick.

We did have a few moments of sanity where we were able to be "normal". I love how Karter's paint shirt gives him a hunchback.

We have added another helmet to our collection. We were in Target one day and Karter saw this baseball helmet and the "real bat for little kids". Of course we had to get it. Hudson sneaks a turn in with it when he can beat Karter to it. He always puts the helmet on upside down.
We were having a lazy morning on one of the days that the sun was actually shining so we were all lounging outside in our pj's.
