I am feeling the effects of an Idaho winter. My symptoms are; boredom, restlessness, irritability, lack of motivation....and so on. I am so ready for warm weather, gardening, mowing the lawn and of course...nice tan skin. Since I am blessed to live in Idaho I know all these things are still months away and maybe that's why wintertime wears on me. It's so stinking long here. Hmph....
I need some more hobbies but nothing seems to grab at me. Plus it's hard to get immersed in anything with two little darlings hanging on your legs. I've even considered checking textbooks out at the library just so I can feel like my brain is being used. I think that is desparation.
A part-time job may be calling my name.

Hudson and I spent a quiet evening at home together while Karl and Karter went to a friends house to watch football. I have some oranges that are getting a little old so I decided I'd simmer them in some water with cinnamon and cloves. I was thinking how wonderful my house was going to smell and how inviting it would be when Karl came home.
We went downstairs and started a movie, Julie and Julia. It was the cutest show that made me wish I had the ambition to debone a duck and boil a lobster. About half way through the movie a smell started making it's way down the stairs. I was totally confused for a minute, wondering how I could smell the food on the movie. Then realization struck I had forgotten that I had put my concoction on the stove.....the smell I was getting was not what I had planned. My house now reaks of burnt oranges and I do believe I ruined one of my favorite pans. I don't think Karl will find my attempt to make our house "inviting" very efficient. In fact if anyone comes over for the next week I think they will silently wonder what the horrid smell is.
Oops...that is why I don't come up with "bright" ideas all that often. They usually end up in disaster.

Hudson has grown up so fast and there are many days that I feel like I'm ready for another baby. Hudson being so little helps curb my baby hunger cause he seems younger than he is. He talks quite a bit, but mostly in his own language. He loves to tell you what animals say. It is so darn cute! My favorite is the duck. When he is excited he does it really loud and it's so funny!
We had a fabulous Christmas. With lots of sugar filled foods and family. We spent Christmas Eve with my family at my mom's. She always makes lasagna for dinner on Christmas Eve. Funny...eh. But it's also nice to get a break from turkey, ham and potatoes. We all opened one present which of course was pj's.
This was the best pic we could get. I can't believe how hard it is to get three kids under three to look in the same direction and smile. My brothers little girl was done!
Santa brought Hudson a doll...and no I don't think that it'll make him a sissy. As you can see in this pic he is beating it with a hammer. :) When we go to our friends house who only have girls he is so cute playing with the "babies". He got one that has a pacifier and it cries when you take it out. He thinks it is hilarious and only plays with it long enough to take its pacifier away and make it cry. Santa also brought him a truck.
Santa brought Karter "Handy Manny Buildshop". He had a list of different things he wanted about a month before Christmas and we told him he needed to pick which one he wanted Santa to bring him the most. He asked for Handy Manny...everyday for a month. He was so excited to see it. Although I don't think he had any doubt that it wouldn't be there. He was so fun to watch this year. He knew what was going on and was so excited. Christmas is great when you have kids!
By four o'clock Karter was done for. He came home from feeding cows with his uncles and his dad and didn't move from the recliner for 2 hours. We left him and Hudson home with my mom while we went to dinner at Karl's moms house.
Hudson kept me company in the kitchen while I made Christmas dinner. He loves to sit inside the cupboard or in the fridge....wierdo.
We loved Christmas this year. We are so blessed and I am thankful for all I have been given. I am thankful for the sacrifice of our Savior and to be blessed with the knowledge the Gospel gives to me.
The last two years have been especially hard for my family and have made me dig deep within myself to find the strength I need to get through things I never saw coming. I am grateful for the things I have learned from the trials I have been given. I miss my mom and my friend and wish that some things in life didn't have to happen but I have faith in my Heavenly Father and know that one day all will be well.
With that said I hope that I am done with life changing challenges for a while. Please and thanks!
