MEN????????????????
Could someone please explain men to me. Karl pulled into our driveway Thursday evening in a corvette. He had every intention to buy it. This is not something we have discussed. I didn't even know it was something "we" were thinking about. He had figured out all the financing and had even devised his own plan of how he would pay for it by himself. He was going to donate plasma. Good glory! I was soooooooo annoyed. A few months ago he came home with a suburban...I said no. Next it was a motorcycle....I said no. Now a corvette! Are you serious!! I guess annoyed isn't the right word...I was irrate, mad, crazed, foaming at the mouth. If you want something new go buy a shirt. A sports car...seriously. Karl told me until he was blue in his face how it was his dream car and he works so hard for our family. I said "uhh....we aren't even 30 yet. We have a lot of years until buying a dream car is going to be a priority. Diapers are a priority, corvettes aren't." The car went back (of course) but I think some of Karl went with it. He was so disapointed and I felt bad being the dream crusher. I did get a few pics so he can remember it.

School's out for the summer so we have added a few more kids to the mix. I am watching 3 of Karter's cousins for the summer. Last week went good and I am excited at the idea that Karter is going to have some playmates. Here's some random pics of our week. I love being able to be outside!!!!

Our FABULOUS new deck. Thanks so much Pops!
My dad did such an awesome job. We are so happy with the way the deck turned out. Now we need a fancy new grill and some cushy patio furniture to go with it. And some landscaping and....oh the list could go on for miles. (It wasn't really that dark out when I was taking the pics so sorry they turned out dark.)

My dad came from California to build a deck for us. We have been slowly doing things to our house since we bought it. We worked on the front yard last year so now it's the backyards turn. And holy smokes do we have our work cut out for us. It has been fun to watch the decks progress. Each day we get closer to being able to barbecue in the backyard rather than in our driveway. Yippey! It should be finished tomorrow.

Girl Rabbit who's name changed to Easter Bunny and then to Baby Rabbit died on Saturday. I really have no idea what happened. I went in to pick her up and she was rock hard and cold. Talk about getting the heeby geebies. I screamed and yelled for like a minute or maybe even two. It was so gross, YUCK!!!
When Karl brought her home we looked up rabbit care on the internet and it told us that they love attention and want to be loved. It also said that when they are babies to let them eat as many pellets as they want and that green leafy veggies are essential to their diets. And that they needed to be let out of their cages for at least four hours a day for exercise. So we loved her (Karter may have loved her too much) fed her, let her jump around the house. And then she was dead. So I googled "why did my bunny die?" And it said: rabbits are easily stressed by their environments and change, they are often sick as bunnies if purchased from a pet shop and also too inbred to live. It also said that they can't have grass or veggies until they are four months old. Soo.......why didn't it say all of these things last week!
SSShhhhhhhhh.....I'm secretly a little happy. One less thing for me to have clean up after.

It has been a fabulously productive day...and my kids have been wonderful so I have been able to accomplish so much. I love days like this! This morning Karter and I went out and planted acorn and butternut squash, white and gold pumpkins, gords and tomatoes (which will probably die due to the lovely wind). Karter was so much help...he really actually was. Then while I tried to figure out how to set the sprinkler so we could water the potatoes and onions Karter rode his four wheeler around.
After lunch I decided my kitchen floor was long overdue for a scrubbing. Not just a mop but a good ole down on your hands and knees scrub. No fun! But I did it. While on my hands and knees I noticed how nasty my trim was looking....so I started another job. Which turned into cleaning the trim and doors in the whole upstairs. Both of my darlings were still awake while I was doing this. They were so good. My living room was destroyed but they were good.
Karter was playing with Girl Rabbit (Karl bought Karter a bunny on Saturday, Karter named her Girl Rabbit) so I had to stop every now and then to make sure the poor thing was still alive. It was a close call a few times. Once I found them on my bed with the pillows piled five high and Girl Rabbit sitting on the top one. Not so bad...the next time I found them on my bed, the pillows piled five high and Girl Rabbit no where in sight. I found her at the bottom of the pile under all the pillows which Karter thought was hilarious. Once she was riding around on Sunny's back, another time being dragged along by her ears...that one thanks to Hudson. I decided she had been tortured long enough so she went back in her box and the boys went down for a nap.
I moved on to scrubbing the bathtubs. My dad and Patty are coming on Friday so I had to make sure the bathrooms were in tip-top shape. I used my handy-dandy Mr. Clean magic eraser. Those things are amazing! Scrubbing the tub has never been so easy and the results are fabulous. So come on over Patty-Lou. I'm ready...I think my tubs would even pass good ole Christine's germ-a-phob code.
Last but not least I made a pan of homemade chicken enchiladas for dinner oh and I did some laundry. AND it's only 4:30. Look at me! I'm tooting my own horn.
But I still can't find my camera.

What a fabulous day! I have gotten so much done. And my kids have been wonderful. This morning Karter and I planted winter squash, acorn squash, white and gold pumpkins, gords and some tomatoes (which will probably die). I put the sprinkler on the potatoes and onions while Karter burned off some more energy. You wouldn't think it would take very long to put a sprinkler on but those darn things are smarter than me. I can never get them to go the right direction.
We went in and made some lunch. PB and J with some of my SnL's homemade strawberry jam. Yum! Then I decided that I had to give in and scrub my kitchen floor. Not just mop but a good ole down on your hands and knees scrub. It was no fun and while I was busy doing that my darlings destroyed the living room and my bedroom. But hey they were happy and let me get it done. That led to me noticing how gross my trim was, so the next job began.

Big Baby Sud
Hudson has finally started crawling. He is 9 1/2 months so he has definately taken his time. He crawled for the first time at Marissa's shower...and go figure I wasn't looking. My mom and aunt saw him but he decided not to try again the rest of the day. He is catching on pretty good now. I think he looks like he is "moon crawling" like moon walking, do ya get my drift. Maybe some of his rolls will disappear now. He had his nine month check up last week and weighed 20lbs 2 oz. He is in the 37th percentile for his weight and only in the 14th percentile for his height. I don't know why he looks so big when he really isn't. I was at the grocery store yesterday and a lady asked me "How old is he, about 15 months?" uhhhh no. Karl calls him a man-child. He has seven teeth and has already had a haircut and is due for another one. Karl and I always call him Big Sud or big fat kid (that sounds horrible but it's said with lots of love) but I noticed Karter saying that to him the other day so I guess we should pick new names. One night Karl was getting Karter's pajamas on and Karter grabbed Karl's cheeks and said "fat cheeks". Oops...everyone does that to Hudson. But dang if he isn't so cute and smiley. I would post a picture but I cleaned my house this morning and now I can't find my camera. So check back.
